Frances, an artist and model, was the only child of Nirvana legend Kurt and his wife, singer and guitarist Courtney Love.

Her romantic journey with Riley hit the spotlight in February 2022, when they made their relationship Instagram official. Fast forward to October 2023, and they were saying “I do” in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles, just a month after receiving their marriage license.
The wedding featured a surprise officiant—former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, who also happens to be Frances’ godfather! Since then, the lovebirds have been settling into married life in California. Just weeks after the wedding, Frances was spotted out and about, flashing a gold wedding band while running errands near their Oceanside home.

Meanwhile, Riley, who’s also a professional skateboarder like his legendary dad, was seen lifting furniture from a moving truck, sporting his own black wedding band as he adjusted to their new shared space.
Frances’ journey to happily ever after hasn’t been without its twists and turns. While she and Riley are now celebrating the arrival of their baby boy, it’s worth noting that this is Frances’ second trip down the aisle.
The artist and model was previously married to musician Isaiah Silva, frontman of the rock band The Eeries. The former couple tied the knot in 2014, but things took a sharp turn when Frances filed for divorce in March 2016, after less than two years of marriage.

What followed was a tumultuous legal battle that centered around more than just spousal support—it involved one of Kurt’s iconic guitars. Frances was willing to settle the finances, but she made it crystal clear that protecting her father’s estate, reportedly valued at $450 million, was non-negotiable.

The real contention came over Kurt’s 1959 Martin D-18E guitar, famously played during Nirvana’s unforgettable “MTV Unplugged” performance in 1993.
After a drawn-out court dispute, a judge ultimately awarded the guitar to Isaiah in May 2018. Isaiah later auctioned the piece for a staggering $6.01 million, making it one of the most expensive guitars ever sold.

But despite the rough patches in her past, Frances Bean Cobain found her happy ending with Riley. Now, as they dive into this beautiful new chapter of parenthood, the Cobain-Hawk family couldn’t be more thrilled.
Fans can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for little Ronin—after all, with his mom’s artistic genes and dad’s skateboarding prowess, the possibilities are endless!
